Communication Middleware

BDS Middleware (Business Data Switch) is a communication middleware created by company ORIWIN. BDS is proposed for external system connection to mySAP. It exploits experience from about 30 integration projects of SAP system with external company applications.

BDS is used in the majority of external system's or ORIWIN product's integration with mySAP. Its function is to ensure the bi-directional communication between an external application and the mySAP system. For communication with mySAP the technology of ALE, ALE, RFC, BAPI, IDOC is used which enables to monitor in any moment what is going on with data during the transmission. All situations are logged and in case of an error it is possible to track where and why it has occurred and it is possible to remove it. For such cases a workflow can be defined in the standard mySAP system - to whom a report shall be sent to solve the situation.

One part of BDS middleweare is also a database system serving for data "storage" that are sent from my SAP into an external system and backwards. Microsoft SQL Server 2000 is used as a database system. Anyway it is possible to use any database system enabling ODBC access.

SAP Exchange Infrastructure (SAP XI) of integration platform SAP Netweaver can replace DBS middleweare in case, that a customer has its own mySAP Business Suite license.
