RFID and SAP also in Slovakia - in the laboratory for the moment

Non-profit association GS1 Slovakia has opened the first Slovak radio-frequency identification (RFID) workplace in Žilina. Laboratory is assigned for reaserch, presentation and application of radio-frequency identification of goods and services in supply chain by means of electronic product code EPC, which is the world wide standard in this area.

Project is unique by automatic linking of RFID technology to a comprehensive enterprise information system SAP ERP. In laboratory conditions, has managed to create conditions identical to the real processes in manufacturing, retail or logistics. Information system SAP and its integration to RFID technology has implemented the company ORIWIN.

Laboratory equipment provides a comprehensive view on the use of standards in the whole logistic chain, from production to sales. Persons concered from Slovakia can use the laboratory technology to develop a pilot projects and testing of RFID for the needs of their companies. Examples of the latest technologies, consulting and support from the side of experts enable the companies further development in this advanced technology in Slovakia.
