Resco and ORIWIN release system FAIN — SAP integrated solution for fixed assets tracking by Barcode.
ORIWIN, SAP NetWeaver integrator and Resco, supplier of advanced developer components and tools for mobile devices have entered into an alliance and released FAIN (Fixed Assets Inventory) — a ready-made solution for fixed assets management and inventory with mobile capabilities. This brand new solution is integrated into the SAP ERP environment which brings standardized and familiar UI, and fast implementation. FAIN is a complex product for inventory and fixed assets management in SAP ERP. FAIN consists of the following parts:
- FAIN — fixed assets SAP add-on enhancing standard FI-AA functionality
- FAIN Touch — .NET CF application optimized for Windows Mobile devices
„SAP solutions have been known as pricey and requiring lengthy implementation“, says Peter Výboh, Managing Director, ORIWIN. „We decided to offer an off-the-shelf solution at a reasonable price which can be implemented quickly, by the customer himself.“
FAIN (SAP add-on) includes tools that support and optimize the entire process of inventory and fixed assets management. It is fully integrated in the FI-AA SAP module and shares the same UI. The SAP add-on includes the following features:
- Barcode label printing directly from SAP
- Inventory, inventory list creation and management
- Processing of data collected during inventory
- FI-AA asset master data updating
- Asset inventory reporting
„A natural extension to this type of solution is a mobile client which extremely simplifies asset management and inventory“, says Radomir Vozar, Enterprise Solutions Director at Resco. „And because the client is only used occasionally, we designed an intuitive mobile UI, which can be easily operated by a finger and requiring no user training.”
FAIN Touch includes the following features:- Fixed assets identification by Barcode
- FAIN supports the currently used barcode labels
- User friendly UI and intuitive operation with finger-touch functionality
- Fixed asset selection either by room, cost centre, or stock-taker
- High performance optimized within HW limitations of mobile devices
- High security and reliability: system installation is launched from a flash card and all collected data is stored there
- Optimized for Motorola MC55 mobile device featuring a barcode scanner
FAIN is designed to provide the best opportunities for building a robust, yet flexible system. It can be expanded and customized to meet all customer’s needs. Moreover, since it’s provided with a well documented source code, significant customizations are possible. This solution is intended for all companies, both private or public – basically any company that requires fixed assets inventory. FAIN is also intended for all customers of SAP and SAP ERP who use the FI—AA module.
