SAP NetWeaver Mobile

SAP NetWeaver Mobile is another generation of mobile technology. It is not aimed only for your access to your e-mail box but it enables remote access to company applications from mobile devices. An important aspect of SAP NetWeaver Mobile is that it is based on open standards as Java, XML and SOAP. It means that it is independent and it can run on all types of mobile devices and networks – from laptops to mobile phones and from wireless net (WiFi) to Bluetooth. Via mobile devices with SAP NetWeaver Mobile you can access into company applications any time and anywhere. You are limited only by capacity of the communication channel.

ORIWIN solutions for mobile business have the main goal: to transfer business processes from offices to mobile devices and to enable an access to company applications whenever some business opportunities may occur.

SAP NetWeaver Mobile itself consists of several application components. The first one (mobile client) is placed on the mobile device. Mobile client comprises the business, application logic, user interface, data storage mechanisms and Web server. These enable client to work even without net connection. The other component is the server part of SAP NetWeaver Mobile. Its main task is:

  • Synchronization and replication of mobile client and server data
  • Administration of applications and equipment
  • Communication and data exchange with backend system applications (SAP or nonSAP)

The last but not least key component of SAP NetWeaver Mobile is a development environment where mobile applications are created or modified.

SAP NetWeaver Mobile comprises three types of mobile clients. These clients are optimized for specific user roles and target positioning.

  • Mobile Java client – optimized for mobile devices of PDA type (Personal Digital Assisted) for applications requiring occasional connectivity with company system
  • Mobile .NET client – designed for devices using Microsoft Windows and applications requiring occasional connectivity with company applications
  • Mobile browser client – designed for mobile devices on which such applications are running that require on-line activity with server via technologies like WAP, WiFi net, Bluetooth or GPRS

Ready packet mobile scenario is first of all the following:
  • Mobile sale - it helps the sellers with their first contact to a customer (support of salesmen, appointments, orders...)
  • Mobile maintenance - including enhanced processes in utilities (deduction, disconnection...)
  • Mobile service - support of service actions at a customer (visits, repairs, repair status, clearing status...)
